THE FALLS CREEK CAMPGROUND

Falls Creek Campground

Directions: From Aberdeen, drive north on U.S. 101 for 38 miles to Quinault and the South Shore Road. Turn right and drive 2.5 miles and turn left at the entrance to the Falls Creek Campground. Olympic National Forest, Pacific Ranger District, Quinault Office.

Falls Creek Campground is scenic but very compact. It is a three-acre camp set just off the South Shore Road directly adjacent to the Quinault Ranger Station and the historic Lake Quinault Lodge. Big leaf maple forms a lush canopy for the summer months, along with mixed conifers including a few large Western cedars. Some sites overlook Falls Creek or Lake Quinault. Falls Creek Campground offers 22 sites for tents and 9 walk-in sites with drinking water and flush toilets. The walk-in sites are accessed by a bridge across Falls Creek and offer fairly good privacy. The non walk-in sites have minimal privacy although there is plenty of vegetation. There are both drive-in and walk-in sites with wheelchair accessibility. Picnic sites and day use area are available.

Quinault Rain Forest Trail and the Quinault National Recreation Trail system are nearby. There is an interpretive program and activity schedule offered during the summer at nearby Lake Quinault Lodge. Information is available at the Ranger Station.
