THE MONEY CREEK CAMPGROUND

Money Creek Campground

From Everett take Hwy 2 toward Monroe, go east approx 31 miles to campground sign. Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Skykomish Ranger District.

Located in the midst of an old growth Douglas-fir and Western Red Cedar Rain Forest, on a bend of the South Fork of the Skokomish River. Money Creek Campground has 2 sections with 23 campsites. The east section is a spur on the south fork of the river and each site is on the river's edge. The west section is a loop with sites close together yet sufficient foliage to provide a sense of privacy. An informal swim area with a sandy beach is available just outside the campground at the bridge. There are water spigots and vault toilets available.

A possible day trip is the Iron Goat Trail #1074. It has two trailheads nearby on US Rt. 2. The trail follows the abandoned Great Northern Railway grade. At the Wellington trailhead, you can take an easy/moderate half-mile round-trip hike to the west portal of the first Cascade Tunnel and back to the trailhead on a 5-foot wide trail that is barrier-free and suitable for wheelchairs.
