Cottonwood Campground

From Olympia on I-5, take exit 104 and drive north on U.S. 101 ti the Aberdeen/Highway 8 exit. Turn west on Highway 8 and drive 36 miles to Aberdeen. Continue through Aberdeen 4 miles to U.S. 101, turn north on 101 and drive 91 miles to Oil City Road between Mileposts 177 & 178. Turn left on Oil City Road and drive 2.3 miles, turn left on Road H4060 and drive 1 mile of gravel road to the camp. Cottonwood is a primitive but pleasantly secluded camp with 9 sites set along the Hoh River in the Olympic Experimental State Forest. It provides an alternative to Hoh Oxbow, Willoughby Creek, And Minnie Pererson campgrounds. The campground is not directly on the river but sites 2 through 5 border a slow moving stream. The road leading through the camp extends to the rocky, flat river bank and provides access. Bring your own water, vault toilets and a boat launch are available.
